Minimally Invasive Procedures — Neurosurgery & Spine Consultants
The Right Tool for the Right Problem
Surgery Has Changed. Significantly.
The image most people carry of spine surgery is decades out of date. Modern minimally invasive techniques bear little resemblance to the open procedures of the past. Incisions are small — often under an inch. Muscle tissue is preserved rather than cut through. Recovery times are measured in days and weeks, not months.
At NSC, minimally invasive procedures are performed only when they are the right solution — not because they are available. Our surgeons evaluate each case individually and recommend intervention only when diagnostics, imaging, and clinical presentation confirm that a procedure will produce meaningful, lasting improvement.

Our Procedures
What We Perform at NSC
Procedimientos que realizamos en NSC
Kyphoplasty
Cifoplastia
A minimally invasive procedure used to treat compression fractures of the vertebrae — most commonly caused by osteoporosis. A small balloon is inserted to restore vertebral height, then filled with bone cement to stabilize the fracture. Performed at NSC within 48 hours of compression fracture diagnosis.
Same-day or next-day procedure. Significant pain relief typically experienced within 24–48 hours.
SI Joint Fusion
Fusión de la Articulación SI
The sacroiliac joint connects the base of the spine to the pelvis. When it becomes unstable or inflamed, it causes significant low back, buttock, and leg pain that is often misdiagnosed. SI joint fusion stabilizes the joint through small implants placed through a minimal incision.
Outpatient procedure with a focused recovery protocol.
Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF)
Fusión Intersomática Lumbar Transforaminal
TLIF is one of the most commonly performed spinal fusion procedures at NSC and one of our most profitable. It addresses instability, disc degeneration, and nerve compression at the lumbar spine by fusing two vertebrae together through a minimally invasive approach that reduces muscle damage and speeds recovery.
Our surgeons have extensive experience with this procedure. It is recommended only when conservative care has not provided relief.
On-Site Minor Procedures
Procedimientos Menores en Clínica
NSC performs a range of pain management and diagnostic procedures in-clinic — including nerve blocks, joint injections, and trigger point treatments — that provide targeted relief and gather clinical information to guide next steps.
Procedures are performed by our clinical team and coordinated with your neurosurgeon's plan.
